I am currently looking for other books and/or series to read. I love the Red Rising series but I am about to finish Lightbringer. I also really love the dark tower series, and The Passage Trilogy by Justin Cronin. The Magicians series was great as well. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I think the accepted images for the Society's and the Gold sigils are wrong. I'm rereading Red Rising right now and the Society's sigil is described as "A gold pyramid with three parallel bars attached to the pyramid's three faces, a circle surrounding all." It is not a pyramid in a circle with some wings below it, like seems to be the accepted image. My own personal interpretation of that is a triangle with the three parallel lines being perpendicular to each of the faces (9 in total), sticking outwards from the pyramid. It would create a 'radiating light' effect, all set inside a circle. It would be as though the sun were depicted as a triangle instead of a circle, which makes sense when you take the Gold's Society mentality into account.
The Gold sigil (as the Sovereign wears it but is definitely called 'the Gold's' in the same sentence) is described quite specifically as "a dot in the center of a winged circle." None of the imagery coming up when I search for Red Rising sigils conforms to that at all. Someone with more artistic tendencies and better software than myself needs to interpret those words more literally to come up with what those particular sigils likely looked like. Please and Thanks!
My Haemanthus art
I was searching for the release date of “Red God” and found a bunch of posts about a red rising tv show. The most recent comments were from 2020 and they were all hoping the show would be announced soon. I personally hope the show never happens. I can’t think of a single adaptation that was any good since LOTR. Even hobbit fell short. I’m a big fan of the graphic audio versions of the books so far and I believe this is as far into multi media as any great book should be pushed. This way it gives freedom to add music, sound effects, and choose vocal inflection but stays true to the stories because they still reading the authors words. The casting in the series has been magnificent. I was chilled and moved by the speech given by Ragnar to Mustang at the end of Golden Son. The voice actors really put their souls into it. An under-respected art if you ask me. Speaking of voice actors, in the original (non dramatized versions) of the books Lydia was cast very well in iron gold but for some reason they gave her a “high class” accent in the following books. I didn’t understand the switch. I’m willing to listen to anyone’s input or opinion on this.
I'm trying to gather information about the battle of Ceres. All I really know so far is that it happened during the Solar war, the Morning Star was involved, the Annihilo was badly damaged, two Republic destroyers were destroyed and the Republic won eventually. Any more info would be great.
Am I wrong or does this game kind of feel like the books?
Yes, the aliens and all are not totally in the book. but the whole diving out of the ship and the name feels a lot like the book
After talking with my wife I now disagree with my self on this (but don't see how to remove the post) as it would be highly controversial and may seem racist even though the intention would be the opposite.
Having a diverse cast and yet having a distinctive look to each color, makes casting difficult. However, because this is essentially a story of slavery and racism I believe it would resonate better if the casting of colors conformed to racial stereotype and then the TV show or movie would show the Sons of Ares being a group that is trying to shatter these stereotypes.
As such, I think all of the high colors should be cast as white actors and the reds should be black actors but with red hair and eyes. Darrow should definitely be Michael B Jordan and with his transformation to gold he should be made to look white. I think that pinks should be South East Asian to reflect the sex tourism industry of Thailand and Vietnam. Obsidians need to be white because of the clear Viking connection. The rest should be made up of different races as long as each color is consistently cast.
Does anyone know what the Jackal’s staff looks like? A visual of his staff would be cool. It is described as the pyramid of society with a jackal head on top. (Chapter 56 Morning Star)
I was just wondering if somebody rembers, which charakter used to ask his defeted oponents for their favourite author and then recited a poem by that author before he killed them.
What is the source of the term "Tier" and how does the Red Rising wiki community define it? I've been compiling a list of color specific "classes" or professions that "may" be considered tiers but I wasn't sure. For example, I assumed Lurcher was considered a tier for Grays but noticed it wasn't listed on the Gray page. I went to add it but wanted to pose this question first.
It seems like the way it's described on the Gold page is the best, which differentiates between social tiers and official tiers. However, some tiers are a profession and others are more of a title. For instance, a carver/Artificer is more of a profession whereas a Rose or a Stained is more like a certification and all of those are considered "tiers."
Here's a list of classes/tiers/professions that I'm curious if they should be considered "tiers":
PsychoTechs (Green)
HelmBlue (Blue)
ComBlue (Blue)
Lurcher (Gray)
Splinter (Pink)
Helldiver (Red)
Scuggi (Obsidian)
Ascomanni (Obsidian)
I am new to the world of Red Rising, but have listened to the first three books more times than I would like to admit. I am curious, the art on this page and other pages, has any of it been "approved" by the Pierce Brown folks? For instance the color pyramid/symbols on one of the other pages, I am curious if this is just an artistic interpretation, or, something directly from the author and his team.
