Her nose is crooked, and described as Roman in architecture
Her eyes are garnet red, and are described as large, wide-set, and narrow.
Her breasts were cauterized shortly after puberty since she was not chosen to be a breeder for her mine.
Her forearms, neck, and face are covered in white tattoos depicting the names of the Sons of Ares killed by the Krypteia after Darrow gave up the Sons on the Rim to Romulus au Raa in exchange for his aid in the Battle of Ilium.
Involvement[]
Pre-Saga[]
When Athena was fifteen years old, her clan decided to seize control over their mine. While she saw the uprising as beautiful at first, she knew they were doomed when she watched her elders execute their hostages. When her favorite elder put a gun in her hand and asked if she was a gasfly or a warrior of Red, she pulled the trigger and took eleven lives.
When House Raa soldiers came to put down the uprising, Athena was one of the few to escape. She fell in with pirates, and sunk into her own shame, coming to believe that she had never been a freedom fighter and had always been a terrorist.[2]
In 723 PCE, she was found by Fitchner au Barca, who showed her that the elder who put a gun in her hand was alive, living in peace and luxury far away from the gas mine where he sparked the uprising. Fitchner revealed that the uprising had been orchestrated by the Krypteia from the beginning, and recruited her as the first "daughter" in the Sons of Ares. To ensure that the rebellion would survive, Athena was tasked with creating an independent rebel cell, and founded the Daughters of Athena.
