Aurae is a Pink from The Rim and a spy for the Daughters of Athena within House Raa.
Personality[]
Appearance[]
Aurae has quartz eyes and her skin is described as "a shade darker than olive".[1] Her hair is described as thick, wavy, and blue-black, and never seems to be the same color or in the same braid twice.
Her appearance is said to make it difficult for others to guess her age.
Skills and Abilities[]
As a spy for the Daughters of Athena, Aurae has a diverse collection of skills beyond those associated with her cover as a courtesan, such as medical and engineering training.
Involvement[]
Iron Gold[]
After giving Lysander au Lune a massage, he rejects further services and he notes that she seems relieved rather than rejected.[2]
At dinner that night, she sings a song called "A Memory of Ash." Lysander sees Diomedes watch her leave "in a way he should hope no one in his family notices."[3]
Later, when Lysander is locked away from the bedlam that ensues from the showing of Seraphina's video evidence that Darrow was behind the destruction of the Ganymede Dockyards, Aurae is the one to bring him the message from Diomedes that Cassius has died. She arrives with blood under her nails. When Lysander asks to be taken to see Cassius, she says he cannot, and that Diomedes is trying to retrieve the body. She says he sent her with the message because she "has his trust."[4]
Dark Age[]
Though not shown in Dark Age, Aurae helped Cassius escape from Europa to warn the Republic about the Rim's impending alliance with the Society Remnant, and she was present aboard the Archimedes when Cassius arrived on Mercury to rescue Darrow from Heliopolis.
Light Bringer[]
Just over six months after The Long Night, Aurae accompanied Cassius to Starhold to steal helium for the Archimedes. During their six-week round trip, they encountered Colloway xe Char and accompanied him back to Icarus base aboard his stolen Votum torchShip.
She accompanied Cassius and Darrow to Venus to rescue Sevro from The Minotaur, and waited aboard the Archimedes while Darrow and Cassius infiltrate the Venus Dockyards.
