Cipio was a Gold highDraft of House Mars during the 542nd class of the The Institute of Mars.
Appearance[]
His appearance is described as "squat, sour and curlyheaded".[1]
Involvement[]
Red Rising[]
Cipio allies with Antonia au Severus-Julii within the first three days of their time at The Institute.[2] When Antonia and Darrow's tribes ally to use House Minerva to remove Titus from power in House Mars, Cipio helps to subdue Virginia au Augustus's warband alongside Lea, Thistle, and Weed.[3]
During the celebrations after Darrow leads the House in conquering Castle Minerva, Cipio is mentioned counting the number of slaves taken during the battle.[4]
After Antonia flees House Mars, along with Vixus and Cassandra, after a failed attempt on Darrow's life, Cipio follows Primus Cassius as Mars becomes a power House in the Institute during Darrow's banishment. Later, Cipio and three other highDrafts watch House Mars's toiling slaves when they're ambushed by Darrow and his Oathbreakers. Darrow is the one to bludgeon Cipio off his horse and the Oathbreakers are successful in recruiting Mars's slave to Darrow's army. Their army then leaves Cipio and the other highDrafts moaning on the ground as they retreat.[5]
Golden Son[]
After graduating from The Institute, Cipio becomes a lancer of the Terran house Falthe.[6]
Following the Summit Gala, Cipio and his fellow lancer Lilath au Faran aid House Falthe in murdering House Thorne. After massacring House Thorne, they and the surviving Gold in their party stomp on the heads of the Throne family's children. They later attempt to ambush Tactus au Valii-Rath when he rejoins the main retinue of House Augustus, only for Tactus to turn around and kill Cipio before stomping on his corpse in retaliation for his actions against the Thorne children earlier.
Relationships[]
Allies[]
Antonia au Severus-Julii[]
Cipio and Antonia were allies early on during their time at The Institute, and had an intimate relationship with each other.[6] However, the relationship is suggested to be unequal, as Cipio was referred to as "Antonia's plaything."[7]
