Despite her stern appearance, Clintus has a sense of humor, notably managing to crack a joke about the circumstances of Darrow's victory.[1]

After Darrow wins the Institute and all the dignitaries arrive to meet the students, Clintus is the first to congratulate Darrow and affectionately refers to him as "the Reaper." She seems to like him very much and compliments Darrow's creativity and cunning.
Clintus tells Darrow that Drafters of every House want to recruit him but that House Mars Drafters still have first offers. She finally gives him a badge, winks, touches his shoulder and they disperse.
