Corthus was a Red from the mining colony of Nagasos on Mars and an early member of the Sons of Ares.

Sons of Ares, Volume 3[]
Corthus and his brother Roran were approached by Ryanna while working in the mines at Nagasos on September 3rd, 725 PCE. Ryanna took them to the surface and showed them that the planet had already been terraformed, and recruits them into the Sons of Ares. On Ryanna's orders, Roran and his brother begin secretly revealing the truth of Mars's terraforming to the other Reds of their mine and recruiting them to the Sons.[1]
On November 3rd, Corthus and Roran were arrested by the Nagasos mineMagistrate on suspicion of sabotage. While Roran fed the magistrate false information, Corthus betrayed the Sons in exchange for food. He revealed everything he knew to Nero au Augustus and Fitchner au Barca, unaware that not only was Fitchner actually Ares, but that Fitchner and Ryanna had planned for his betrayal.[1]
