Senators flee from them, tripping and falling, skinning their knees and prying themselves up to scramble away, their togas white but for the hems that are stained in blood, so that they look like the fluttering wings of red doves in flight.
— Virginia au Augustus, Dark Age, Chapter 31

The Day of Red Doves, so named by Atalantia au Grimmus, was an especially violent coup during the reign of Virginia au Augustus that saw the deaths of several Senators and leaders, and the end of the Solar Republic as established by Virginia and the Sons of Ares.

It was realized by Virginia, in the midst of the violence, that Lilath au Faran was very much alive, and was likely helped lead the coup.
