— Dark Age, Chapter 2
|
Diomedes au Raa is a Gold of House Raa and the Storm Knight of the Rim. He is the second-eldest son of Romulus and Dido au Raa and becomes his father's heir after his older brother Aeneas is killed in the Battle of Ilium.
Personality[]
Diomedes is typically serious and does not often talk, but when he does it is important. He is honourable to the extreme.
Appearance[]
He has shoulder-length white-gold hair with black streaks. He has narrow eyes with long eyelashes and many scars on his face. His left ear is missing.[1]
In the beginning of Dark Age, it's mentioned that he has it put up in a knot.
Abilities[]
Diomedes is noted to be an excellent dueler, likely even better and faster than Cassius au Bellona.
Involvement[]
Morning Star[]
Though not mentioned in the novel, Diomedes is later revealed to have fought in the Battle of Ilium alongside his father and his brother Aeneas, and provided cover for his father when Romulus called Darrow about the Colossus heading toward Ganymede.[2]
Solar War[]
Iron Gold[]
Diomedes is dispatched by his father alongside his brother Marius and the Krypteia Venator Pandora to bring his sister Seraphina home when they discover that she has travelled to the Core in secret to purchase evidence of Darrow's destruction of the Ganymede Dockyards from the Ophion Guild.
After Lysander au Lune and Cassius au Bellona rescue Seraphina from Obsidian pirates, Diomedes destroys their pursuers with his destroyer Charybdis.
Dark Age[]
Diomedes led a delegation to Mercury to discuss terms of an alliance with the Society Remnant. While his sister and Lysander participated in The Battle of the Ladon, Diomedes remained in orbit for the duration of the battle. After his sister perished on the second day of the battle, Diomedes spent 10 days searching for her body in the Waste of the Ladon before departing to deliver Atalantia's terms to the Dominion government.
When the Rim and Core navies launched an invasion to retake Earth, Diomedes seized the Twins of South Pacifica[3][4] before leading a team of commandos to the surface to lower the planet's shield generators.[5]
Light Bringer[]
Following the conquest of Earth, Diomedes secured control of the Middle East between the Red and Black Seas. Once the region was under Gold control, he left Earth to lead an attack on Ceres before spending the next months in battle against the Republic amid the Asteroid Belt.[4]
After falling in the rain on Phobos, Diomedes enters an agreement with Lysander to invade Mars in three days time.
