Gorgo is an Obsidian agent of The Syndicate, an associate of the Duke of Hands, and the right hand of the Syndicate Queen.[1]
Description[]
Gorgo is described as one of the biggest men Ephraim has ever seen, with beetle-eyes and white hair that falls to his waist. He has massive eight fingered hands wormed through with blue veins and razor-sharp nails.[2] Gorgo is a monster with eerie black eyes on a cadaverous face. Ephraim says "He looks like he swallowed more than mead and roast beast in his time." Gorgo has a mouth full of gold plated teeth, which the Duke said had been melted down by him and Gorgo together.[3] Ephraim thinks Gorgo was probably a Beserker or a Stained.
Involvement[]
Solar War[]
In 751 PCE, Gorgo and a team of Syndicate assassins attempted to kill Cassius au Bellona when he and Lysander stopped on Ceres. Though Cassius managed to escape, Gorgo's sighting of Lysander was reported to the leadership of the Society Remnant.[4]
Iron Gold[]
Gorgo is used by the Duke as intimidation and brawn. He seems to have a cold disregard for everyone, even the Duke. He accompanies the Duke during the latter's meetings with Ephraim ti Horn, who is led to believe that Gorgo is the Duke's subordinate.[5]
At orders of the Duke, he throws Cyra si Lamensis off a highrise, killing her, to torture Ephraim ti Horn.[6] Kobachi shudders at mention of Gorgo.[7] Ephraim learns about the Duke's ants from Gorgo.[3] When Ephraim is trying to escape from the Syndicate with Pax and Electra, with the Duke in custody, Gorgo sees them and Ephraim realizes why Gorgo smiled when he called him "the Duke's man." Gorgo shoots through the Duke and hits Ephraim. Ephraim escapes with Pax and Electra in a ship but leaves the Duke bleeding out on a ramp.[8]
Dark Age[]
Gorgo's sighting of Lysander three years prior is brought up by Asmodeus au Carthii when Atalantia and the Society Remnant are confirming Lysander's identity following his arrival in orbit over Mercury shortly before The Battle of the Ladon.[4]
After the Day of Red Doves, Gorgo accompanies the Abomination when the Boneriders disrupt Caraval's sham trial for Virginia Augustus, and is described as watching the clone with deep respect. Gorgo kicks the captured Sevro in the gut. It is revealed where Gorgo's true loyalties lie as he repeats Lilath's chant that the Abomination "sees all."[9]
