The Haemanthus It is a flower originating from Mars.
In Red Rising, Darrow picks a haemanthus on the mountain side where he slays Proctor Jupiter. He puts it in a compartment in his gravArmor to give it to Mustang once he finds her on Olympus. But when he finds her, he thinks of Eo so kisses the flower and tucks it back away thinking not yet, not yet. Rather than give her the flower, Darrow kisses Mustang instead because the flower is like Darrow's heart, it is of Mars, born from the red soil, and it is still Eo's. But after Mustang had been captured Darrow realizes he loves Mustang too.
