The HoloNet is an interplanetary communications network utilized by every planet and moon in the solar system. It is the equivalent and evolution of the internet of pre-Conquering Earth.

Description[]

The HoloNet can be used to send messages and videos, exchange sums of money, and much more.

dropCache[]

A dropCache is a holoNet site used to leave secure one-way messages.[1]

History[]

Sometime between 722 and 737 PCE, Fitchner au Barca recorded a speech as Ares that was uploaded to the holoNet and continued to be circulated for decades afterward.[2]

After Eo's hanging in 737 PCE, the Sons of Ares uploaded the footage of her execution onto the holoNet, where various anarchist hacker groups spread it across the web.[3]

After graduating from The Institute of Mars in 738 PCE, Darrow and Sevro used the holoNet to stay in touch after the Howlers were sent to Pluto.[4]

Sometime between 738 and 741 PCE, footage of Darrow killing Proctor Apollo and storming Olympus at The Institute of was leaked onto the holoNet.[5]

In late 741 PCE, gossip about Darrow's fate after his beating by Karnus au Bellona at The Academy was a frequent topic of conversation on the holoNet.[6]

In July 742 PCE, Sevro uploaded the footage of Darrow's carving onto the holonet. It was quickly taken down by the Securitas cyberdivision, but was reuploaded across a million other sites within minutes, resulting in the holoNet servers on Phobos crashing due to the strain of thirty million people attempting to access the net simultaneously.[7]

In the later months of 743 PCE, the holoNet went down in the Core as a result of a hacking war between Sons of Ares hackers and The Society's cybersecurity forces.[8]

In the immediate aftermath of the Day of Red Doves, the Alltribe shut off holoNet access and other forms of electronic communication to Eagle Rest to all but high-ranking personnel.[9]

In late 754 PCE, jamming efforts by the Society Remnant and Rim Dominion significantly limited access to the holoNet for Republic ships and outposts in the Asteroid Belt.[10]
