Involvement[]
Pre-Saga[]
Members of Arcos fell on Earth during the Conquering, and, along with other Martian ships, broke the Britannic Armada and the Empire of the Rising Sun. When the Society colonized Mars, House Arcos, alongside House Bellona and Augustus, rose to power, exploiting Mars' helium-3 mines. The family established a small estate known as Talon's Aerie in the village of Neo Positano, west of the planet's capital Agea, before eventually establishing their primary seat of power in the island city of Elysium.[1]
Over the next 700 years, Arcos built up their power and influence to eventually become the third most powerful house on Mars,[2][3] with influence extending to other spheres through their ownership of multiple farms on Earth and island estates on Europa.[1]
In the mid 7th century PCE, Nefeli au Arcos married Spiridon au Lepidus, and together they had at least one son, Lorn. House Arcos inherited Spiridon's debts, which provide to be too great for the family to endure, with their estate in Talon's Aerie having to be sold to help pay the debt off. Eventually, Nefeli and Spiridon took drastic action in order to escape the latter's debts, resulting in the assassination of Trajan au Augustus in 657 PCE. When confronted by the Rage Knight of the time, Nefeli pled guilty and was immediately executed, while Spiridon pled innocent and was taken to the Temple of Jove to stand trial, leaving Lorn to inherit his mothers position as Primus of House Arcos.[1][4]
Lorn eventually attended The Institute of Mars and was drafted into House Mars, where he graduated as a Peerless Scarred.
At some point before 676 PCE, Lorn took up the post of the Rage Knight under Sovereign Ovidius au Lune.[5] In 696, he carried out a massacre against House Cylus under his Sovereign's orders. He continued to serve Ovidius's daughter Octavia after she overthrew her father in 701, and served in her armies during the First Moon Lord Rebellion. During the campaign, he witnessed the burning of Rhea, and acquired the nickname of Stoneside after developing a reputation for eating anything and being challenged by a Gray that he couldn't eat stones.[6]
In his years as Rage Knight, Lorn developed his own form of razor dueling that he dubbed the Willow Way, and achieved a prolific reputation and became known as the greatest razormaster to ever live. He trained several students in his art, ending with Aja au Grimmus in 711.
During his life, Lorn fathered four sons and took part in many wars, which ultimately led to three of his sons' deaths during his campaigns.
Red Rising[]
Lorn served as one of the Drafters for the 542nd Class at The Institute of Mars and personally advocated for Darrow's selection for the schoolHouse.
At some point in early or mid-738 PCE, Lorn's fourth son, Brutus au Arcos, was killed alongside his wife, Anastasia au Lune, due to their status as Reformers. Their son, Lysander, was then taken in by his grandmother and raised as heir to the Morning Throne.
Retirement[]
Soon after Brutus and Anastasia's deaths, Lorn grew disillusioned with The Society, and retired from his position as Rage Knight. He moved the entirety of House Arcos to their estates on Europa to pursue isolation from the politics and corruption of The Core.

- ↑ Lorn is visibly a teenager in the comic for BOL episode 1 but is lacking a Peerless Scar, indicating that he was 16 or 17 when his mother died.
- ↑ Per Golden Son chapter 04, Lorn was already an adult and his reputation as the Rage Knight already established as of 25 years before the Moon Lord Rebellion. Since GS chapter 28 indicates Lorn is around 100 during the events of the novel, this and other details in Light Bringer indicate that the Moon Lord Rebellion only occurred 40 years before GS rather than 60 as stated in Morning Star.
