Nicator is a Copper actarius enslaved by the Obsidian fleet after Volsung Fá's Sack of Olympia.

Appearance[]

Nicator wears black and white robes.[1]

Involvement[]

Pre-Saga[]

Before the events of Dark Age, Nicator served as the vice-tertiary administrator of helium management in the city of Olympia on Mars.[1]

Dark Age[]

Though not see, Nicator was one of several civilians in Olympia who were taken prisoner and enslaved when Volsung Fá usurped Sefi's throne and ordered the Obsidians of the Alltribe to sack the city.

Light Bringer[]

After the Volk fleet left Mars, Nicator became the personal actarius of Volga Fjorgan and was responsible for overseeing the requisition and distribution of food for Fá's army.[1]

After Lyria is captured while attempting to convince Volga of Fá's allegiance to Atlas au Raa, Nicator approaches her in the hangar of Volga's dreadnought as they look out at Europa's Nixian Isles. Nicator explains that Volsung Fá is using the upcoming feast to pacify the Obsidian braves, who are restless being out in The Rim, particularly with the gossip of Darrow's return spreading through the ranks. When Lyria points out that the braves do not look troubled, Nicator responds that humans are herd animals and typically do as their fellows do for fear of the shame of going against the grain. Nicator then points out that Fá's army is recreating the hierarchy by ranking how favored a given warband is.[1]

Nicator then gives Lyria a pill, referring to it as "a small mercy for a fellow child of Mars." Lyria throws the pill out into the ocean, thinking it was a suicide pill. Nicator says that Lyria will not die today because Volga will ask Fá to spare her, and reveals that the pill was a breath mint to help her bear the unpleasant taste of the muzzle she'll be forced to wear when meeting Fá.[1]
