Pollux is a Gold who was a highDraft of House Mars at the Mars Institute during Darrow's class.
Appearance[]
A lean, craggy-voiced boy with buzzed hair. He sounds like he's been smoking burners since he was two.
Personality[]
Darrow indicates that Pollux isn't particularly loyal, and that "he'll go whatever way the wind blows."[1] He was likely very spoiled when growing up, as he complains about not having Pinks to tuck him in after the first night in the Institute.
Involvement[]
During House Mars' chaotic argument about who should be Primus, Pollux spits and Titus knocks him out cold. Despite this, Pollux becomes one of Titus's best soldier and one of his captains, as shown in Titus's raids of House Ceres when Pollux upends a horse with a tree branch fashioned like a pike and captures the rider as a slave.
Pollux turned on Titus to set Cassius free and opened the gate to help Darrow force Titus out. After this, Pollux, like Antonia, linger close to Darrow in order to associate with his power and hope to earn marks for Primus. Later in the book, after Darrow returns to House Mars after taking Olympus, Pollux reveals that Roque and Quinn kept the House together while Primus Cassius gave up a while ago. Pollux tells Darrow to go easy since after the news of what Cassius did to Darrow spread it ate Cassius's mind up. Pollux also reveals that he was put in the Passage with a little girl and although he tried killing her swiftly, she wouldn't die.
He fought on the side of House Bellona during the Lion's Rain. Pollux accompanies Lilith as one of the Boneriders when Darrow, Mustang and Sevro are escorted to the Jackal by Cassius and Antonia.
