A pulseBubble is a forcefield that prevents certain things from exiting or entering. It can be used to keep out rain (upon touching the pulseBubble, rain sizzles and turns to steam) or seal off large areas from a planet or moon's atmosphere or lack thereof. Romulus au Raa's home on Io for example is covered by a pulseBubble, which makes it unnecessary for the buildings to have roofs.[1]
PulseBubbles can also be used in combat. When breaching the hull of a ship in space, a pulseBubble can seal the breach and prevent the ship from venting and deploying countermeasures (for example, bulkheads that activate).[2]
