Rotback is a Gold who attended The Institute between 737 and 738 PCE alongside Darrow and is a loyal member of The Howlers.

Though never mentioned by name, Rotback is a loyal classmate of Darrow's and becomes one of the original Howlers.
He and Screwface are fascinated by their classmate Daria and her habit of wearing a belt of scalps.[1]
Golden Son[]
Rotback came to Luna in late 741 PCE with the rest of the Howlers on Virginia's summons so that she'll have men in the Citadel whom she can trust in preparation for the Summit in January 742 PCE. After the Gala Massacre, he and the Howlers aid Darrow and House Augustus in fleeing the moon.[2]
Rotback dies during the Lion's Rain after an EMP detonates nearby and kills the power of his gravBoots and StarShell armor, dragging him to the bottom of the river, where he ultimately drowns.
