EMPs are illegal in the Society (possibly just for Colors other than Golds, or possibly only high ranking Golds can approve their use). Darrow says about Holiday's use of an EMP that she would "never see daylight again" if the Society caught her with one.

- In Golden Son, the Bellona forces use Brown girl to detonate an EMP when Darrow and his team enter Agea
- In Morning Star, Holiday and Trigg ti Nakamura use an EMP to rescue Darrow from the Jackal's fortress in Attica.
- In Iron Gold, Ephraim ti Horn uses an EMP to down Pax and Electra's shuttle and kidnap them.
- In Dark Age, Glirastes builds an enormous EMP on Darrow's orders to use against Atalantia au Grimmus's forces. However, Lysander au Lune convinces Glirastes to flip and use the EMP against Darrow.
