The Red Hand were a terrorist group of Red extremists operating in the south of Mars during the Solar War.[1] Their intent was to hunt down and kill any Gamma Reds they could find. Their exact founding date is unclear, but it is likely they were formed by Harmony during the events following Golden Son. The Red Hand are were originally formed by radicalized Sons who believed Ares's Gold origins were propaganda created by Virginia au Augustus. They also claim that Ares's true identity was Narol, and that he was killed by Adrius au Augustus.[2]
In Iron Gold, The Red Hand were responsible for the attack on assimilation camp 121 where Lyria and her family were staying. This attack resulted in the death of Lyria's family bar her nephew Liam.
When Ephraim kidnaps the children, he attempts to frame it as a Red Hand attack by leaving their mark of a bloody handprint on the wall.[3]
