The Twins of South Pacifica are a battery of twin prototype railguns on Earth developed by the Solar Republic during the Solar War.
They were named after Holiday ti Nakamura and her brother Trigg ti Nakamura, and were used on Virginia's orders to send supplies, medicine, and machines of war to Darrow and his army on Mercury while they were entrenched in Heliopolis following the The Battle of the Ladon.
When the Rim and the Society Remnant invaded Earth in March 754 PCE, the Twins were scuttled by the Republic before Diomedes au Raa captured it with his Lightning Phalanx. The Republic believed that the guns were unsalvageable, but by late October of that year, some combination of Rim and Core mechanics managed to repair the Twins. They were subsequently used to launch rail slugs a few weeks prior to the Siege of Phobos. On the first day of the attack, the Rim and Core fleets tricked Victra au Julii’s fleet by leading them into the path of the rail slugs, destroying almost half the Julii fleet.
