Tyche is the capital city of Mercury and the planet's richest city. It is located on the northern coast of the continent of Helios at the edge of the Sycorax Sea.

Features[]

Tyche is set on an incline between the Hesperides Mountains and Mercury's oceans on a large strip of lowland connecting the mountain chain to the Talarian Peninsula on the northwest coast of Helios.[1] Railgun installations in the mountains north of Tyche protect the city for aerial attacks..[2]

The city is famous for its skyscrapers made of glass and limestone,[2] and was built by House Votum as a monument of beauty and symmetry. The old quarter is carved entirely out of local stone and glass, and libraries the size of starships in the shape of human heads were carved into the mountains behind the city.[1]

The city extends northeast to encompass multiple small islands in the Sycorax sea near the coast of Helios, connected to each other and to the coast by a series of bridges, including the famous Ancestor Bridge. During the summer, lowColor children will often jump off of these bridges into the ocean in order to cool off when the winds from the Trasmian Sea to the west are still.[2][3] The city also has multiple public transit systems that run beneath the seafloor to connect each part of the city together.[2]

Tyche has a gravLoop that runs under the Hesperides Mountains south of the city to connect it with Heliopolis.
