Valeria au Carthii is a Gold of the Venusian house Carthii and one of the many daughters of Asmodeus au Carthii.

Personality[]

Valeria enjoys bloodsport and feels that an event where no one is dying lacks any stakes.[1]

Like the rest of her family, Valeria is opposed to reform, seeing Reformers as in denial about humanity's basic lowness. She also sees Reformers as prudes for their lack of interest in violence.[1]

Appearance[]

Involvement[]

Solar War[]

Thanks to the Solar War, Valeria is able to ascend past her more famous brothers to become a third-place contender in the family competition for the position of their father's heir.[1]

Light Bringer[]

Valeria attends Lysander au Lune's chariot races at the Hypodrome in Heliopolis with her brothers eight months after The Long Night. Before the opening race, they discuss Lysander's activities over the last several months as he attempts to convince her to form an alliance with him. Lysander is forced to abandon their conversation when he sees Cicero au Votum participating in the race despite his explicit order not to, but promises to speak to her again later.[1]

Two days later, she attends the party to celebrate the launch of the newly reconstructed Lightbringer when she and her family receive word that their father is moving against Apollonius au Valii-Rath to retake control of their Dockyards. Valeria and her siblings move to attack Tharsus as revenge against Apollonius, but are intercepted by Lysander. Lysander informs Valeria that he had sent Apollonius several legions of reinforcements, and offers to make her the head of House Carthii within the week if she allies herself with his faction. Valeria agrees and calls off her siblings from going after Tharsus.[2]

While Lysander is en route to Earth for Atalantia's summit, Cicero and his sister Horatia help negotiate terms between House Carthii and Apollonius that place the Dockyards under Valeria's control and end the feud between the two houses.[3]

At the summit, Lysander reveals that he has brokered peace between Apollonius and House Carthii by playing a message from Apollonius and Valeria. Valeria informs the Two Hundred that her father perished in battle the day before, and details the agreement that Lysander helped broker before urging the Two Hundred to agree to an attack on Mars.
